During the launch event, MLA Vemireddy Prashanthi Reddy shared her distress at witnessing the struggles of cancer patients during her election campaigns. She emphasized the importance of early detection and urged every woman above 35 years to undergo cancer screening. The mobile pink bus initiative aims to make cancer screening accessible and affordable for all.

Advanced Technology On Board

The mobile pink bus is equipped with cutting-edge technology to conduct three types of cancer tests. These tests, which usually cost up to Rs. 10,000, are being offered free of charge. The bus, worth Rs. 3.50 crore, was generously donated to SVIMS by the Vemireddy couple through the VPR Foundation.

Making Kovur Constituency Cancer-Free

Vemireddy Prashanthi Reddy stated that their ultimate goal is to make the Kovur constituency entirely cancer-free. She also announced that existing cancer patients in the constituency can register at the bus for free treatment through Aarogyasri or TTD Pranadana Trust, ensuring that no one is left behind in the fight against cancer.

Commendations and Gratitude

Nellore district collector O. Anand commended the initiative and expressed his gratitude to the Vemireddy couple and TTD SVIMS doctors for their efforts in making cancer screening accessible to all. The launch event was attended by DMHO Dr Penchalaiah, SVIMS doctors and staff, district health department ANMs, and ASHA workers, all of whom pledged their support to this noble cause.
